Property Crimes Represent 85% of All Crime Reported*

Property crime is an offense that impacts many citizens each year.  For the business community, crime is an economic development issue because of its impact on the economic well being of its citizens and industry.

Community Policing Partnerships Are Effective at Preventing Crime & Solving Community Public Safety Issues

Raymond D. Schultz, Chief of Police
Due of the breadth of the crime being committed by offenders it is important for the criminal justice system and community partners to work together to develop new, innovative ways to combat this criminal activity. Albuquerque Police Department  (APD) has established "Community Oriented Network Enforcement Communication Technology" that allows law enforcement and community partners to communicate about criminal activity impacting their businesses on a real time basis.

Partnerships enable the APD to expand its law enforcement capability by eliciting support from community partners. With increased community involvement, we can identify public safety issues and work together to develop an appropriate plan to address community concerns.

The APD is currently involved in developing proactive community partnerships
